Favorite teriyaki place in this side if town! Both locations serve excellent food. The salad dressing is my favorite, I always have a bottle of it on hand.

First of all, reading the reviews (which I do often before I go to a place obviously that's why we're here), I don't understand ROB's review. I don't ever comment on other people's reviews but his is the most nit-picky review I have ever seen on Yelp. Skip past the second paragraph to read my review of this place. This guy complains about the girl at the counter not having a favorite to suggest. So what? This place opened at the beginning of 2014. Perhaps she hasn't tried everything on the menu since I doubt it's free for employees, or perhaps she was new. She gave her best answer. She's an hourly employee here, not a salesman. If you look at their menu, everything they serve is accompanied with rice. It's no surprise to me that they charged his girlfriend for a swap to noodles. Rob said he would have preferred his veggies on the side. He ordered yakisoba...it's going to be mixed. It's odd to me that he looked at every single table, the floors and glass door and found it all dirty. Of course the bussing station was full of dirty dishes. Maybe he hasn't been out much. I get annoyed when I see nit-picky reviews bashing on new and growing businesses with hardly any mention of the food. The radio was too loud? Really? He probably just felt overcharged for the noodle swap and that's not the restaurants fault in that situation. I would take his review with a grain of salt. Now for my review. This was my first time here and I was greeted with a smile by the lady at the counter. What's great is that they have a ton of menu items to choose from. Chicken, yakisoba, bibimbap, short rib, etc. Side dishes as well. I wanted to try the udon but they were out for the day so she offered me a free canned drink with my order. I went for the spicy chicken teriyaki and the first table I sat down at was clean. The floors were clean, and I didn't look around at the other tables and glass door. IF there was something on my table that bothered me, I could have cleaned it myself but there wasn't. Very clean environment from what I saw. My food came out within five minutes. Very speedy service here which was excellent. The portion size was great. 2 chicken thighs, about a cup and a half of rice and a salad for about $7.25 or so. I came around 3PM with nothing to eat all day and left full. I found the spicy sauce on the chicken to be mighty tasty. Someone else's review said it reminded them of a buffalo sauce and that's somewhat accurate I would agree with. A buffalo sauce with a bit more tang, sweetness and creaminess to it. I loved it. I asked them what they use and it's their own house made secret sauce. The salad dressing was delicious and house made as well. This is a standard teriyaki restaurant and if that's what you're looking for at the moment this is the spot in Oregon City. I give five starts for great food, quick service, low prices and a lot of menu options. Overall it's a well balanced service.

This is my second trip. New places sometimes need a while to shake things out to catch their stride. I'm guessing/ hoping that a little longer and this will get their stride, because today wasn't so convincing that I need to come back. The egg roll that I paid $2 to add to my meal was Luke warm and looked like even at that overcooked. The chicken seemed more warmed over than grilled to order. The blaring music from the radio on the counter did little to enhance my lunch. The place is clean, the service is prompt. They would do well to focus more on cooking to order and perhaps offering a lunch Special. I'd like to try the chicken with fried rice in a few weeks to give them a chance to tighten up the quality of the food they serve.

Hmm. Ok. I definitely didn't have the same experience. The place is nice and they are friendly. The menu has some nice option and I will definitely try the teriyaki sometime. I order the spicy chicken combo with a side of goyza. The combo comes with rice and a salad. The dressing was good and the lettuce was fresh. The chicken was cooked pretty well. Using dark meat mostly but didn't come across a lot of fatty parts. The sauce was terrible. It was like a buffalo teriyaki or something. It was covering the chicken so I was stuck with it. The goyza was fried. No option for steamed. The sauce for those was way to heavy in soy. It definitely has potential so I will give it another shot.

When we first moved to Oregon City, we struggled to find a good teriyaki place. We loved House of Teriyaki in Wilsonville, but that's a long haul just for some grub. Nothing closer to home fit the bill. Then came Soy Teriyaki Grill. What a delicious discovery! My wife and I have turned this place into our regular weekend excursion. We've tried several different dishes--all delicious--but our favorite is the chicken and fried rice. Pay a little extra to add the house spicy sauce, and it is perfect! Like most restaurants, finding what fits your preference takes a little trial and error, but this is the best teriyaki in OC by a landslide. It's a clean and quiet space, but we prefer to take ours to go.

Soup was gross took one bite and threw it away. I got the white meat chicken teriyaki and the meat was tough. There is better teriyaki in OC!

This is hands down the best teriyaki place I've been to. Used to drive out to clackamas just to get soy grill so it was amazing when they opened the one in Oregon city. Whenever I try a different teriyaki place, I regret not just coming here. I recommend the chicken yakisoba and the spicy chicken is amazing as well. The portions are large enough for two meals so paying the whopping 8 dollars for this plate doesn't make me sad in the least.

Nice service. Fast service. Inexpensive. My husband loves the spicy chicken. I can't think of anything bad to say....

I typically get the chicken/beef combo plate and it has been good every time. Service is fast and pleasant.

Yeah... I won't be going back. White meat chicken yakisoba and a 20oz diet pepsi for....$13.98?!! I'm sorry, but say whaaaaa? I don't want to pay anything more than $9 for a decent teriyaki meal, this was ridiculous. The food was less than mediocre, but not completely terrible. Way too much sauce on my plate, overcooked noodles and last but most worst the veggies were all cabbage with no greens at all. Very cheap quality indeed. They did give a decent amount of chicken, but that was the only redeeming quality, as it was definitely overcooked and tough. I won't be going back when there are so many other great lunch choices that won't eat up my lunch money budget! This place needs help, or it won't last.

Keep looking, Yelpers! 2 of us rolled in around 1:30 on a Thursday afternoon. There was a single party of 3 in the place sitting right in the middle of the dining area. We were greeted immediately by a young lady. I placed my order after viewing the rather large and somewhat tacky poster menu. I went with chicken teriyaki yakisoba noodles. My GF asked the young gal what her favorite item on the menu was and she replied rather sheepishly that she didn't really have a favorite item and that "you can't go wrong with anything here". Really? My GF ordered the chicken goyza meal and asked if she could substitute noodles instead of the white rice. The girl said she could but there would be a substitution charge. Only after ringing us up and me doing some quick math did I ask just how much that little substitution cost me and she told me it was $2.50. That seemed to be a bit unreasonable but I let the order stand. We both had free water out of a water cooler. Having read a previous review, I agreed that the radio sitting on the counter was a bit loud and I simply turned it down a bit. I then went to the empty table of my choice and discovered it was dirty. As it turned out, every empty table in the place was dirty. I asked the young lady if she could please clean my table for me and she said it would be no problem. A few seconds later she asked which table needed to be cleaned and I told her that they were all dirty. As I waited for her I started looking closer and saw that the floor needed a good mopping and that the front glass door was quite dirty, as well. Our food was brought out in about 5 minutes and we each received a single napkin and a real metal fork. My chicken yakisoba was average at best. The chicken was grilled and could have been a bit more moist but wasn't quite dry, either. The vegetables were minimal and mixed in with the noodles. I would have preferred them on the side. The teriyaki sauce was quite good but there wasn't enough of it on my dish. Had I asked for a bit more I wouldn't have been surprised if that cost extra, too. My GF's meal was not great. She expected the goyza to be steamed as it appears on the menu photo but they were fried. I immediately remembered another Yelper pointing this out. Her green "salad" had too much dressing on it for her taste. I quoted salad because it was iceberg lettuce and dressing only. After finishing my meal I spotted the self-bussing station and took my plate over there. It was full of dirty dishes and the garbage can next to it was covered with food which was gross. Considering how slow the place was, the place should have been much cleaner. The dirty tables, bussing area, window and substitution charge along with meh food garners 2 stars and a promise that I'll never go back. I hope somebody alerts the owner to the cleanliness issue. Also, we would have expected more than one plate out of the many they offer to have noodles on it. 12/11/14: Just noticed that Ken W. chose to call my review out as being too "nit-picky". I stand by my review as being an honest and thorough review of my experience on that day. I'm left wondering if the place was clean on his visit because I publicly noted that it was filthy when I visited. Finally, we all have our own review style and everyone has their own unique experience. This is obvious as one person may give a poor review while another gushes even if reviewing on the same day. Calling reviewers out personally, not a good practice in my opinion.
